Insurance cover

How is physiotherapy reimbursed in 2026?

Below you can read how physiotherapy at Fysico Rotterdam is reimbursed. The rules in this overview apply to 2026. Exactly how much is covered depends on your health insurer and your policy.

No referral needed. Physiotherapy in the Netherlands is directly accessible: you don't need a referral from your GP. During your first appointment we carry out a short screening to determine whether we are the right place for you. For reimbursement from the basic health insurance, for example for a chronic condition, and for oedema therapy, a referral from your GP or specialist is usually required.

Frequently asked questions about reimbursement

Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?

No. You can come to us without a referral. At the first appointment we carry out a short screening. For reimbursement from the basic insurance, for example for a chronic condition, a referral from your GP or specialist is usually required.

Does physiotherapy count towards my deductible?

Only if the treatment is covered by the basic insurance. Reimbursement from your supplementary insurance does not count towards your deductible. Children under 18 have no deductible.

How many treatments are covered?

This depends on your supplementary insurance. The number of treatments per year is stated in your policy or in your insurer's app. Not sure? We're happy to check with you.

What if I don't have supplementary insurance?

Then you pay for the treatments yourself, according to our fees. If you have a condition covered by the basic insurance, part of it will be reimbursed.

I'm insured with Salland. Can I still come to Fysico?

Yes. We don't have a contract with Salland, so you will receive the invoice yourself and claim it from your insurer. Reimbursement for care without a contract may be lower, so check with Salland beforehand.
